New Career Development Pilot Launched

Thanks to a new partnership with Fairfax County Public Schools’ Office of Special Education Instruction, DSANV is THRILLED to offer a 10-week Career Development PILOT program! This program began on October 1st and runs twice a week, on Tuesday and Friday mornings from through January 10th, in Springfield. This program is specifically designed to support our adults, ages 22+, who have aged out of school with continuing to develop skills that will assist them with finding and maintaining a job. Our current participants are creating various work task boxes for the twenty-four high schools within FCPS. Once the boxes are completed, they will be delivered to the Career Preparation classrooms within each of the abovementioned buildings. These boxes will be used by special educators to support instruction on the soft skills and hard skills needed for future employment of their students. We are so thankful for the opportunity to show the community how hard our members can work!
