Potential budget cuts to the Fairfax-Falls Church CSB

DSANV was made aware of recent budget cuts proposed for the Fairfax-Falls Church CSB, completely eliminating and reducing some critical services for our friends and neighbors with disabilities. The proposed budget includes several reductions that will affect CSB services:

  • Close Cornerstones and New Generations Residential Treatment Programs, impacting 35 CSB positions. $4.6 million

  • Eliminate rental leases and transition to supervised living, permanent supportive housing, and other services. $800,000

  • Reduce or eliminate funding for contracted residential, employment, and day services $2.2 million:

    • Self-Directed Services – Eliminate Secondary Education Programs

    • Close Respite Facility

    • Eliminate Drop-in Services

    • Transition four individuals with developmental disabilities to Medicaid Waiver  

  • Eliminate contract with Leland House, which served adolescents in a mental health crisis. $411,084

  • Eliminate 3 vacant Developmental Disability Specialist I positions. $402,606

  • Eliminate 3 filled positions providing transition services to Fairfax County Public School seniors. $422,349
