DSANV Members Advocate on Capitol Hill

Our Executive Director, alongside some of our Board of Directors, their families, and DSANV members, joined the Global Down Syndrome Foundation and 150 self-advocates and their families on Capitol Hill to advocate for the DeOndra Dixon INCLUDE Project Act. The Act is named in memory of beloved GLOBAL Ambassador, DeOndra Dixon (who also happens to be Jamie Foxx's little sister). Our team met with representatives from both Senator Warner and Senator Kaine's offices, to ask for their support in securing vital funding for Down syndrome research and medical care. Prior to the event, we asked our members to support the event by writing letters to our Senators, regarding our ask. Thank you to all who wrote letters to support our efforts!
