DSANV

DSANV has 6 committees. All members are eligible to join the committee of their choice; this includes parents, self advocates, siblings, etc. If you are not a member, you just need to ask the Board for approval, a simple process. Feel free to contact one of the committee chairs with any questions or ideas you may have.

The current 6 committees are:

Administration (Chair, vacant) - Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization and for improving those operations

Advocacy & Awareness (Chair, Steve Beck) - Advocates for and on behalf of the Children and Parents of DSANV. Please click on the committee title for our subcommittees, their descriptions, and contact information.

Development (Chairs, vacant) - Raises money for the benefit of our programming

Education (Chairs, Heather Trammell and Sheila Erhardt) - Educates the DSANV membership and the Northern Virginia School Systems on issues related to disabilities, Down syndrome and education.

Social Outreach (Chair, Maureen Buckley) - Plans and implements a variety of social and support events for the membership

Executive Committee (Chair, Brian Ray) - Consists of the President, the Vice President, the Treasurer, the Secretary, and all self advocates on the Board, sets and meets the ongoing organizational goals and reviews their progress
